7 terrible fake ghost pictures

May 30, 2015 by Andrew 3 Comments

What counts as a terrible ghost picture in the first place?

There are a few answers; the photoshop ghost might be easy to spot, the original picture might already be famous or some popular smartphone app like Ghost Camera Prank might have been used. Badly faked ghost pictures are common on the internet. Some might argue that all ghost pictures are fake but that’s a debate for another day.

Here’s 8 of the worst fake ghost pictures according to In Pure Spirit.

Faked Scolastic Information

1421962110

The picture above is a fake. You can just see the “ghost teacher” or very large child floating above the students in the foreground. The original, seen below, is Robert Doisneau’s Scolastic Information. You can buy the original from Art Republic.

17500

Faked Dracula, Bela Lugois

1421962480

This is a famous picture from Bela Lugosi’s 1931 Dracula picture. It boggles the mind that anyone would thik to photoshop a ghost into it. Are we expected to think that the vmpire is real too? As evidence; the original can be bought as a poster from Art.com.

LUGOSI

Haunted Gothic Church of St Peter

1421962873

This fake ghost looks like it was created on a smartphone. You can see the so-called haunting sitting in what looks like a sofa on the right. The original picture can be seen in a blog post created by Andy Finnegan which tells us that the original is the Gothic Church of St Peter in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. You can see a copy of the original below.

church1

Ghosts in the snow

1421962769

This terrible picture is of Miranda Castle. The original photograph may have been taken by this Flickr user and published without permission to be shared elsewhere. That’s not stopped the original from being spread around the internet and in this case some one adding a horrible creature you can just see in the front left.

Castles-snow-20

Ghosts inside the castle church

1421962708

It might make sense to imagine there would be ghosts inside a church or ghosts inside a castle. Needless to say it may well make sense that there are ghosts inside a castle church. In this case the photograph does not prove ghosts are real. The original can be found among a personal collection at Roman Zakharii’s site.

berezhany-zamok-cerkva1

Edward VII and his ghost

1421962933

This so-called haunting of Edward VII is unlikely. The original picture can be found in Wikipedia’s archives and the ghostly spectre added to the image looks more modern than anything else. Do you think this is real?

EdwardVII_at_Balmoral

The ghost on the pier

1421962662

I suppose this is quite a nice idea. In this case the faked photograph begins life as a good photograph without any obvious hook to the supernatural. A figure is simply added in and suddenly the whole picture takes on a new life. The original, however, can be found on Redbubble by the artist SD Smart and there’s no ghost.

Five Reasons To Believe In Life After Death

January 31, 2014 by Guest Author 2 Comments

gravestone

The concept of life after death is one that transcends all cultures and religions. Death is the great unknown. After all, until we actually die, how can we be certain that life really does go on? And if it does, where exactly will we end up? Many people embrace the idea that the human soul continues on its journey after the demise of the physical body, but if you are not convinced, here are a few reasons why there really could be life after death.

Near Death Experiences

childlife

There have been numerous reports over the centuries of people having a near death experience at some critical moment in their life. They describe a sensation of drifting down a long tunnel towards the light, to a place where their loved ones are waiting. Often the person has stopped breathing and their physical body is to all intents and purposes dead. But even though the physical body has stopped working, their consciousness is still alive and kicking. So whether (or not) you believe in the idea of ‘heaven’, experiences like this suggest that our ‘essence’ does leave the physical body at the point of death and travel somewhere else.

Because the Bible Says So

bible

Most of us are familiar with the teachings of the Bible. Jesus was crucified on the cross and His dead body placed inside a cave. Three days later the tomb was discovered to be empty and Jesus’s body had disappeared. Many witnesses reported seeing a resurrected Messiah over the next forty days, which is a good indication that in Christianity at least, the concept of life after death really does hold water.

The Egyptians were Believers

egyptian
The ancient Egyptians were strong believers in the idea of life after death. In fact they were such firm believers that when anyone died, their corpse was mummified and placed in a burial chamber along with all of their worldly possessions, including household slaves and anything else that might have come in useful in the afterlife. The only problem with this scenario is that if the person did indeed enter the next life, their cozy domestic arrangements might have been hampered by a lot of very angry slaves.

Past Life Regression Therapy

perry marco
Past life regression therapy is a contentious practice. Proponents of the therapy place their patients in a deep hypnotic trance and using questions, try and take them back in time to a place before they were born. Critics regard the recovered memories as delusions and fantasies, but past life regression therapy has been around for thousands of years and it is even mentioned in ancient Indian literature. There is no concrete evidence that memories recovered during past life regression therapy sessions are real, but subjects who report such memories are convinced they are true, so who knows?

Paranormal Activity

scareface
Ghosts and paranormal goings on have been reported for centuries. It could be argued that a ghostly sighting is simply a residue of electrical activity left over from a traumatic event, but for those who believe in the afterlife, ghosts are simply more evidence in favor of life after death. The body of the person has died, but their soul remains tied to a place that has special significance to them and therefore it can’t move on.

If you are yet to be convinced about the concept of life after death, at least make sure you organize a good send off. After all, your funeral could be the last chance you get to be present at a great party.

The twilight zone of Wolverhampton messes with cars

November 2, 2011 by Andrew Leave a Comment

Drivers in Penn, a suburb in Wolverhampton now have to be extra careful that they’ve successfully locked their car before leaving it alone. Residents claim that their key fobs, remote locks for their cars, are misfiring and failing. Some speculate whether car thieves have smuggled a jamming device into the area.

Residents have said that the very same key fobs work perfectly once they’re taken out of the area. Locals Darren Cowan and Kay Sedgwick both confirmed to the Express and Star, the local paper, that their own cars and key fobs have had problems.

However, Conerstone – a health and science specialist – who manage the phone masts for companies like Vodafone and O2 has said it is unlikely to be these transmitters blocking the key fobs.

All Vodafone base stations are compliant to the European Commission regulations on electrical interference.

Others have suggested that a faulty TV sender or even faulty alarm system that operate on wireless signals may be able to block key jobs.

Do you live in the area? Can you confirm the strange behaviour of key fobs?

York’s Precentor’s Court photograph shows ghostly face

January 4, 2011 by Andrew Leave a Comment

A photograph taken near York Minster, in Precentor’s Court, seems to show a ghostly swirl of mist. Some people say they can see a face in the shapes. The photograph was taken by a man walking is dog in November 2010. Interestingly, the dog seemed unhappy at the time.

Paul Simpson, who took the picture, told press;

“The first photograph I took was very dark so I went to take another. The dog, which is normally very placid, started going mad, barking and growling. We both wondered what was wrong with the dog, but we didn’t think anymore about it.

“It was a week or so later when I looked at the photographs and saw the ghostly figures. One has a distinct face.”

Simpson also told press that before the photograph he was sceptical about ghosts.

The meaning of the the word “Precentor” isinteresting too. A precentor is a person who assists with worship and they operate in a number of religions. The latin meaning of the name, is probably taken from ‘cantor’ as “the one who sings before”.

An interview with Joanne Hull known as The Pet Psychic

September 17, 2009 by Andrew 3 Comments

Joanne was kind enough to leave a comment on an old In Pure Spirit post on Equine Assisted Pscyhotherapy and our cheeky response was to ask for an interview. To our great pleasure, Joanne agreed. If you’d like to read more about Joanne’s offerings and abilities after this Q&A interview then check out her website for extra goodies.

Q: Some of our readers might not be familiar with the services a pet psychic offer. Could you briefly explain what you do and when or why a pet owner might decide to seek the services of a pet psychic?

A: Firstly I have to say that I am blessed to do the work I do, working full time as an Animal Psychic is the best job in the world. My role is to help people connect on a more intuitive way with their animals, taking the normal relationship most of us have with them to a deeper level. Its easy to assume that animals are one dimentional, however, when you actually take notice of their energy and intuitive side, you soon discover that they are so much more than ‘JUST’ a dog, or ‘JUST’ a cat, as some would people say. A pet owner may call me up if they have a problem that perhaps the vet cannot solve, or maybe a behavioural problem that they just cannot get to the bottom of. Most of my clients however call me after a much loved pet has passed to spirit, connecting with animals that have passed is as easy to do as with live animals, it’s very similar to a human Medium, they connect with human spirits in the same way. The messages can be passed to their owners and then validated.

Q: How did you discover you had the necessary skills and talents to be a successful pet psychic?

A: As far back as I can remember I could understand the animals, I assumed everyone around me could do the same? However, it was only as I grew older I noticed that I was experiencing odd paranormal happenings and sought advice, only to discover that what I was experiencing wasn’t as common as I had first thought. I started to take notice of what actually happening to me, such as spirit sightings and a strange spirit voice (now to be known as my guide Alan), eventually I learnt how to come to terms with it all, I developed and fine tuned my skills as a psychic medium (for humans) doing readings as a psychic medium for friends and family. During my search to learn more about my ability, I attended a course in Animal Communication, firstly it sounded fun and secondly I loved animals. I couldn’t believe my luck when the teacher started to explain just what it was, it was like a light bulb coming on! To my amazement, this is exactly what I had been doing for almost 32 years! naturally! So that was it, the next day I packed my well paid job in, and turned professional. At last, I found my true calling in life and I have NEVER looked back.

Q: Are there some animals that respond better to psychic approaches than others?

A: In my experience ALL animals respond to a psychic connection, they are waiting for us humans to understand them and hear them. How many times has your dog sat at your feet glaring at you, trying to tell you something, but you have no idea what? well, by learning communication you can easily connect, it’s pretty remarkable how much these animals have to tell us.

Q: What’s working with animals like? Do they tend to be similar or different to their owners?

A: ahhhh great question, it varies, but normally when I am dealing with animals with emotional or illness problems, it is normally the case that the owners are in a similar state, our animals tend to ‘MIRROR’ us, so if we are quiet and reserved so to will our animals, or if we are hyper and over sensitive to situations our animals will be also. I work with the owners via their animals to resolve any situation, you could say I’m cleaning the Mirror of life.

Q: If someone felt that they might have a psychic connection to their pet would you encourage them to try and use it, to build on it or would that not be wise?

A: Absolutely yes! I spend most of my time encouraging people to connect on a psychic level with their animals. Let me assure you whilst being a Pet Psychic is a special gift, it is actually a learnt skill, anyone can learn the process, easily, even if they feel they have no prior psychic ability or any connection. This is why I host 1 day workshops and have produced a super HOME STUDY COURSE which will develop your inner ability to connect with animals, it’s easy to send and receive messages to and from the animals, it’s just like learning a new language, you need to learn at a steady pace, with explanations. I mean you would go to Italy and suddenly start speaking Italian without learning the language first? So I encourage you ALL to have a go, it’s the most magical experience which will bring most people to tears when they realize how real it is.

Q: What are your top two tips for pet owners?

A: Listen to your animals, it’s that simple, you would be surprised at what they are trying to tell you. And in most cases it’s important. Oh, and don’t be scared of the unknown, it really is amazing.

Q: Do you ever encounter obstructions or strange reactions from people as you work?

A: Sometimes clients are scared of what their animal may tell me, I mean these animals know all about you, all the information is strictly confidential. When I first turned professional I did get a few strange reactions from family, but to be honest I was so excited I didn’t really mind, you have to expect odd reactions now and then.

Q: Do you think some people would never even consider or accept turning to a pet psychic for help? Why would they be like that?

A: Some people give psychics a bad name, being called fakes etc and accused of taking money of victims. However, like in any profession there are good and bad, there are real psychic’s who work only for the good of the animals or people, and often do a lot of work for free, I know I certainly do. I have helped thousands of animals and their people over the years, it’s lovely to get validation and feedback. It makes my job truly humbling.

Q: Your website offers tuition courses for people who would like to try and communicate more clearly with animals. Can you explain a little bit more about your workshops?

A: My workshops are offered worldwide, they are suitable for anyone with a love of animals. Learning every aspect of communication. We work with some amazing live animals on the day and also from your own photographs of past and presents animals. Its a day full of laughter and a few tears, but most of all a day of life changing relationships with animals..

Q: If someone is feeling about eating meat or owning leather goods is a good or a bad idea for them to explore communicating with animals?

A: No, I do not eat meat, however I do have leather goods, and also feed my own dogs meat products, so I cannot call myself a true vegan or veggie. It’s a question I get asked on many occasions, and which is a complex one. I have spoken with meat animals often, they all know the chain of life. Right or wrong its an individual choice, I do NOT judge anyone, people have to make their own choices in life. I continue to push for better care of farm animals, this is important to me. And I am open to learning more about our animal-human relationship when it comes to the food chain. But please do not be put off if you are a meat eater, and those who are veggies or vegans, please do not judge, everyone has a right to learn for themselves, just as the meat animals have the right to lead a dignified and cruelty free life.

I do hope I have given you a better understanding of what life is like as The Pet Psychic*, my new book titled The Pet Psychic* published by HEADLINE available from all good bookstores £6.99 is out on the 18th March 2010. You can pre-order it now from any online bookstore. Hope you enjoy it. All my love Joanne x
