Surprising interaction between science and clever dolphins

December 22, 2013 by Andrew Leave a Comment

The Echo Location Visualization and Interface System (ELVIS) is deployed by scientists to present different shapes to dolphins on a special underwater screen. The dolphins can then use their own sonar to target the shape that they want to select. Each shape represents different food and so with the system, for now, dolphins can select what they want to eat.
