Most Haunted was one of the most popular ghost hunting TV shows in the UK. Many would credit it with creating the genre. It has been off the air for years however there have been some developments.
In 2011 Sky Living decided not to recommission Most Haunted but did give the rights to the brand back to Antix Productions. Antix is the company owned by Karl Beattie and Yvette Fielding.
Karl wrote;
“Hi Guys Just wanted to give you the official news. SkyLiving has decided not to re-commission MH which is sad news, however, we have been given our rights back, so we can go to other broadcasters with it. I think that a new home and better investigation techniques will move MH into the next phase making it bigger and better than ever. We are very excited about MH’s future, so onwards and upwards my paranormal friends. xx”
In 2011 Antix did not manage to push Most Haunted back on air. They did manage a DVD called Most Haunted: Christmas Spirits which included previously unseen footage. The DVD is an example of the sort of thing Antix can produce with the license for Most Haunted back in their control.
There had been an attempt to push out a Halloween episode out in the same year. One again Beattie gave comment;
“Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to get a programme sorted for halloween, getting all the rights back took much longer than first thought. But we are back now, next year we will be looking to go bigger and better than ever before and we will take halloween back. We are about to sign a very exciting deal with a very large company to take Most Haunted to the next level. So watch this space. And thanks for all of your support and undying loyalty, which in this industry is a very rare thing indeed, thank you all it means so much.”
As things stand now Antix has a relationship with Lionsgate, who helped distribute the DVD, but no TV channel to air the show on.

Although I am a big fan, it's mostly because the show is entertaining. If anyone truly believes what they are seeing, they should google ' most haunted fake' and their are plenty of clips and sound bites of all the dodgy stuff that went on. The only reason most haunted was allowed to continue is that it got re-classified from factual to entertainment, which meant they could do what they wanted. Still a great show though
I would love it. It was entertaining and you got to see many England sites. I always wished I could have joined them on one of their shows.
Most haunted was the one thing I always looked forward to on Halloween , Halloween just ain't the same without it so please please u must bring it back and I think I speak on behalf of a lots of fans !

i look forward to watching Most Haunted but all the screaming drives me nuts,why do they do that, iv been physic since i was a very young child and feel blessed that i was given this gift so it annoys me to think that this program can at times be so very false.To see the departed is a gift that should be respected and not mocked.
Make a lot of people happy if it was on our screens for Halloween, i remember turning off the lights, and watching the webcams just waiting for a glimpse of a ghostly presence, oh happy memories, PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!

My daughter would love to see a Halloween live again. She used to look forward to it. I am not too bothered but as she would like it, then I hope they do. However, I don't think they will make it in time for 2012. It is now September and as yet, nothing has been said.
I loved MH However if there is a return they need to get rid of half the people following them around, but i somehow doubt they will get a TV station, its been three or four years now so i have kind of given up hope, but lets see if they do anything for Halloween?

Very, very interesting and entertaining. Just wish they would come to Sydney and Melborne in Australia, Sydney has a very long history of ghost activity, even though the city itself is only just over 200 years old.
Best show if they ever did one here would be from the Sydney Quarantine Station http://www.qstation.com.au (Near Manly) already well known for its ghost tours and is a very active location. Went there some time ago very good night out.
The Q station was a point where imigrants to Australia where laid over till they got better or died from their illness.
Would love to see them come to Australia.
Love most haunted,I too miss David wells and am currently watching all the series on sky living, the format could do with a bit of shaking up but on the whole I really miss MH.

I really hope MH comes back but without some of the ridiculous guest mediums they used to have!
I think MH went down hill when the new historian Lesley Smith joined the show, she was over dramatic and self obsessed, she even went without her bra on some episodes, what was that about, she constantly played up to the cameras, this just served to mock the programme, this teamed with her and Cath screaming all the time ruined it as you couldn't hear what was going on. Bring back the original team Richard Felix and Stuart ect and it will take off again but dont let Yvette hire any of her personal friends again it just doesn't work.

i totally agree with every comment made looking forward to a comback especially the british locations as this provides much needed visitors to them.
i think lesley smith is fab with facts but i too agree that no bra is a no no and her panting and whimpering in panic was just sad .
We started watching the programme as we started dating, and now we moved in, and 6 years on still watch it constantly. We think its one of the best photographed ,quality productions,trying out new concepts and locations etc. we agree we LOVED RIchard Felix ,Stuart, and , of course, Yvette and Karl.We also love kieren and , psychics………Chris Conway,David Wells, Gordon Smith and Derek . We hope to marry at our local favourite haunt Michelham Priory ,which we discussed the first time we ever met, and didn't realise that it was the subject of the first ep. Yes little Cath screams too much! But we still think shes gold and, Lesley Smith is wonderfully purring and theatrical ,if at times bonkers.! All the other paranormal stuff is great, and we love them but, MH retains the historic,gothic,spookiness and beauty of our lovely British Iles end beyond. MOST HAUNTED is a national institution and is most missed people ,so bring it back now before we loose all sense of paranomality! (We love the LIVE S and Halloween ,Midsummers etc. and off shoots, Screaming Banshees and ,Whines and Spirits and ,Yvette end Kierens' prog aswell.) i can't understand why at any level most haunted was let go in the first place. There are so many places yet to be investigated, Maybe team up with T.A.P.S!? Karl and Stuart need to see a gastroenterologist before bringing back,MH,,,Their constant claims of 'feeling sick' were too numerous to mention.
Investigation methods unsound.Creaking floorboards 'did you hear that ! ' …its due to contraction as the heating cools. 'Can you feel that ! its really cold'…where are the min max thermometers. Worst of all is the mass hysteria from certain cast members not conducive to serious research.And lastly most of the locations throw up apparitions during the day when joe public is sauntering around so why the nightime nonsense. Get a GRIP.

I once saw what I believed to be an apparition about 45 years ago which was the shape of a person made up of pale green lights, upon seeing this I went to fetch a friend from the next room and he also saw it. We were at a scout meeting at the time and using a temporary building whilst work was being done at our usual meeting place.
Used to love MH but it moved to Living (don't get it on freeview) and would love it to return to our screens. We have watched all the repeat episodes over the last few weeks on Pick TV, along with the American Ghost stories who seem to have a lot of success with their voice recorders.
So good luck with trying to get back with a new series.

The program was supposed to be about spirits and past lives, the clue is in the title most haunted. so why is it we end up looking at the people involved more than the areas that are supposed to be investigating. I also cannot understand why they ask for a sign then start screaming and the camera directed at their faces so one can hear or see this supposable signs. they might as well call it people watch.

I am a diehard fan of most haunted.I have had an experiance of my own.most people look at u like you have got two heads when you talk about these things.but as for the most haunted team, you must carry on and show the disbelievers.you rock!!

Yes,you have a good program,to come back you could use paranormal groups local in the areas you investigate,you could get sensitive people who live in these local areas to bring their true story's into the program,use different types of spiritual investigations,transmediumship is really interesting,do more psychic artistic drawings so that we can see what they can see,set up trigger objects in more than one room,use a franks box in many rooms,and get Kieran to poo poo things in the most hardcore areas of the investigations,come back on air LIVE! And use more scrying techniques and ouija boards,and ask questions to the mediums that are different to how you investigated before,so it's fresh and more interesting than before.
Stuart should investigate with Kieran on the worst areas possible.
Even go back to the worse ever places and do a count down from 50 places as a season of new DVDs
Get someone who can do automatic writing and a guest mediums from abroad who try to find missing people or killers.
We need people we trust on MH,Tony Stockwell,Colin Fry,TJ Higgs,Sally Morgon. Let's trust MH and come back with a bang!

loved loved loved Most Haunted especially all the live shows but the Halloween shows really made Halloween for me & loads of fans. We've been waiting SO long for a return, its the not having a definite date that I find extremely frustrating, heard so much rearding a return in 2012 & here we are with just over a month of 2012 left & there's still no confirmed date….obviously 2012 return is not happening but PLEASE give all the fans a date to look forward to PLEASE.
Ye you're right what you say Wendy more people are into all things paranormal now than they used to be so there is a larger range of things that can be investigated and maybe MH could link up with other teams like TAPS in America like Yvette used to say a hole plethora of things and ideas that could be done this time around.

I think it is a great programme – really fascinating. I certainly believe in ghostsa s I've stayed in a house where the ghost of a little girl 'lived' ; I've aso seen the ghost of a white dog! Please, Please bring this great series back…or I'll haunt you…

I don't believe genuine psychic investigators would scream and swear or get into a panic. All the screams, beeps and talking make it impossible to hear anything supernatural. There are some excellent mediums. I myself have had amazing readings but I don't think any self-respecting spirit would appear for this noisy and immature lot.

If it does return, which i hope it does, could the team take a few moments to give some of their fans a spelling lesson.
Just watch all the American haunting shows,when ever anything happens there is no stupid squeals or screams,and they immediately run toward what they have heard or seen,far more professional.
Watch ghost adventures,far better,and no Cath screaming at 100 decibels lol.
What people should remember about Most Haunted is that even thought they did all the paranormal things that they could it was still an entertainment show and when you watched the live shows this came threw as exactly that so when they screamed shouted or even squealed or if Derek went into a trance it was entertainment which really paid of because all you have to look at the number of 100% loyal fans that still want to see it return of the most watched show in the history of tv .
It was our favorite show, Halloween or not every week, we would curl up with the lights out ready to be spooked out of our boots..COME BACK GUYS. I still feel your residual energy hehe xxx

Most haunted was brilliant with the original cast and i hope they come back without all the people looking for 5 minutes of fame kath / lesley smith etc they spoilt it . Cant wait for the new shows if its true.
