Former Stanley Tools Factory in Neepsend is haunted, says Gcuk

January 4, 2015 by Andrew Leave a Comment

stanley-tools-sheffieldThe team at Ghost Central UK took some of the Most Haunted team, including Yvette Fielding, Karl Beattie and Stuart Torevell, to investigate the Former Stanley Tools Factory in Neepsend. More than a dozen members of the public were along for a whole night of paranormal investigation.

According to news coverage from The Star they found evidence of supernatural.

Jenny Bryant, founder of GCuk Paranormal, told the paper;

We explored the dark and derelict building. We conducted séances, a ouija board and table tipping.

“Our group heard tapping noises in answer to our questions and we determined it was a male spirit.

“These taps were witnessed by about 12 people – by the team, guests and Karl and Yvette.

“Guests also witnessed shadowy figures fleeting across dark rooms – a very eerie atmosphere.”

The team were using devices, perhaps ones similar to a K-II EMF Meter, to trace high electromagnetic fields. The factory, strangely, had one.

Most Haunted back in 2013

February 14, 2013 by Andrew 6 Comments

There’s been rumours of Most Haunted returning to TV ever since Most Haunted went away. However, the re-runs keep running and that seems to show the value in the series.

Now it looks like Most Haunted might be back and it will happen this year. The news comes from the closed Facebook group Access All Areas of Paranormal with the Karl & Yvette Team Support Group and spread by pages like Most Haunted: The Next Generation.

Most Haunted 2013

The new show will star Yvette Fielding, Karl Beattie and also Fred Batt. Batt’s done plenty of work on the show before as their demonologist. The 2013 Most Haunted promises to be darker and more scientific. This will put it in line with the US based ghost hunting shows that make heavy use of technology and a more aggressive approach to their investigations. Whereas old Most Haunted might feature people running away from a noise in the darkness, the new breed of shows would have people run towards it and this might be what Most Haunted 2013 will try and do as well.

Most Haunted was cleared of deception back in 2005 when the Ofcom regulated ruled it counted as entertainment rather than a legitimate investigation into the paranormal. Don’t take the show seriously, said the official advice. Nevertheless, some fans will want investigations to be as real as possible. Other fans will want the investigations to be as fruitful as possible. The new Most Haunted will have to try and balance those needs.

Do you believe Most Haunted will return to a widely available TV channel this year? If it does… is that a good thing?

Most Haunted to return in 2012?

April 15, 2012 by Andrew 96 Comments

Most Haunted was one of the most popular ghost hunting TV shows in the UK. Many would credit it with creating the genre. It has been off the air for years however there have been some developments.

In 2011 Sky Living decided not to recommission Most Haunted but did give the rights to the brand back to Antix Productions. Antix is the company owned by Karl Beattie and Yvette Fielding.

Karl wrote;

“Hi Guys Just wanted to give you the official news. SkyLiving has decided not to re-commission MH which is sad news, however, we have been given our rights back, so we can go to other broadcasters with it. I think that a new home and better investigation techniques will move MH into the next phase making it bigger and better than ever. We are very excited about MH’s future, so onwards and upwards my paranormal friends. xx”

In 2011 Antix did not manage to push Most Haunted back on air. They did manage a DVD called Most Haunted: Christmas Spirits which included previously unseen footage. The DVD is an example of the sort of thing Antix can produce with the license for Most Haunted back in their control.

There had been an attempt to push out a Halloween episode out in the same year. One again Beattie gave comment;

“Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to get a programme sorted for halloween, getting all the rights back took much longer than first thought. But we are back now, next year we will be looking to go bigger and better than ever before and we will take halloween back. We are about to sign a very exciting deal with a very large company to take Most Haunted to the next level. So watch this space. And thanks for all of your support and undying loyalty, which in this industry is a very rare thing indeed, thank you all it means so much.”

As things stand now Antix has a relationship with Lionsgate, who helped distribute the DVD, but no TV channel to air the show on.

To keep up to date with Most Haunted news then Facebook communities like Most Haunted: The Next Generation are a good way to go. Diehard fans rush to surface the latest hint of news.

Yvette Fielding’s Night of Fright theatre show returns for 2011

March 22, 2011 by Andrew 11 Comments

There is some mystery around how and why Yvette Fielding quit Most Haunted. It was the show that Yvette and husband Karl Beattie made famous.

What is known is that the decision to quit or run Most Haunted Live for Halloween 2010 went right down to the wire. In the end there was no Most Haunted Live for 2010 and Living TV ran Paranormal Investigation: Live instead. In Pure Spirit was able to interview Team Impact ahead of broadcast.

The Most Haunted Live stage show became Yvette Fielding’s Night of Fright. The renaming may well be connected to who held the rights to the brand “Most Haunted” but it’s less clear why the renamed stage show was cancelled at short notice. Organisers sent out letters to people who had bought tickets (and arranged travel and stay) which included this paragraph;

Due to unforseen circumstances and events beyond the producer’s control, it is with deep regret that we have to announce the cancellation of Yvette Fielding’s Night Of Fright (formerly reffered to as Most Haunted Live)

It was clear that Yvette and Karl would be working on something else. On March 13th Karl updated his Facebook status to reflect that he had just returned from filming. This was repeated on March 18th. The nature of this project is unclear at this time.

What has been confirmed is that Yvette Fielding’s Night of Fright has returned and has three dates for 2011. The dates are:

  • Wednesday 18th of May – The Victoria Theatre, Halifax
  • Saturday 21st of May – Victoria Hall, Stoke
  • Tuesday 24th of May – York Grand Opera House

The show will feature Victorian style seance, with Ouija boards and other paranormal investigations.

Most Haunted Live 2010 replaced by Paranormal Investigations Live

October 17, 2010 by Andrew 1 Comment

This year UK Living has replaced Most Haunted Live with a new show called Paranormal Investigations Live. Yvette Fielding quit Most Haunted earlier this year.

The new show, being provided by STV Productions, will be hosted by presenter Naga Munchetty (from BBC 2’s Working Lunch) and features two teams apparently “competing against” one another. One team is a collection of psychics and uses techniques like Ouija for their investigations and will be known as Impact. The other team is scientifically based, uses technology to try and detect and record paranormal phenomena and is known as The Ghostfinder Paranormal Society (aka GPS).

The show will air from 21:00 to 24:00 on the 30th and 31st of October. The location is being kept secret and will be announced just before the program airs.

Paranormal Investigation Live seems to be making heavy use of Facebook and Twitter. You can follow the main account here. At the time of posting it looks like Team Impact has made more effort to sign up to Twitter but aren’t really using it. In contrast, I can’t find all of the Ghostfinder Paranormal Society but their main account has a far better Twitter account as a far better heritage.

As of yet, there is no indication to what the hashtag will be. Could it be #pil?

If you can track down any more Twitter accounts then please leave a comment below.

What do you think of Living’s plans to replace Most Haunted? Did they have to do it due to Yvette Fielding leaving? Had Most Haunted lost all credibility (remember: it was classified as entertainment so legally they could fake anything they wanted).

Or are you reading this after the show as aired? What did you think? Would you watch a Paranormal Investigations Live series?
