The Beautiful Perpetual Ocean

April 10, 2012 by Andrew Leave a Comment

This animation uses algorithms from NASA to work out how the surface tides of the ocean would flow and shift. It carefully paces these flows as they progress over the years so we can see the patterns and swirls they make.

The result is a wonderful visual that reminds this blogger of van Gogh’s The Starry Night.
