Today is Blog Action Day 2010. This post is written to support clean water.
In this post we look at some of the social media and viral success stories for the promotion of clean water. As today’s about supporting clean water around the world please do visit Blog Action Today’s fundraiser page or donate directy to a charity like Compassion in World Farming, World Land Trust, Action Aid or the National Wildlife Federation.
This post is possible because of Zachary Sniderman’s reporting over at Mashable. Thanks!
Thirst
First up in the viral water collection isJeff Brenman’s truly impressive “Thirst” presentation. Three years ago Slideshare ran a competition to see who could make the best presentation. Jeff won. Flick through this and you’ll see why straight away and it’ll challange your views on water.
Greenpeace Chocolate Bodies
Greenpeace ran a protest in Paris against deep water drilling. Supporters covered themselves in chocolate. I don’t know what your normally think of when you imagine French men and woman covered in chocolate but this particular collection of photographs is all about the dangers of drilling.

One last thing, as Jerry James Stone of Treehugger blogs, we are making progress; Concord, MA, is the first town in the States to ban bottled water.
