Does something linger in Morecambe’s Alhambra Building?

October 26, 2009 by Andrew 5 Comments

Situated on Marine Road West in Morecambe is the old and decaying Alhambra Building. Today the building houses an antique shop and disco with bars.

The theatre was gutted by a serious fire in 1970 and rebuilt as a disco. Built in 1901 the building was known as Alhambra Theatre and served as such. Some of the building was converted into a cinema in 1930. Before the fire, owner Eddie Morrell was known for the pantos the theatre hosted.

There are neither records of anyone having being killed in the 1970s fire that are easily available on the Internet nor mentions of death or murder in the building. However, Twitter speculation from paranormal investigators suggests that there may be a dark entity in the building; a murderer or worse.

Is Thorpe Park’s SAW ride haunted?

October 16, 2009 by Andrew 21 Comments

The bosses of Thorpe Park have suspended six members of staff and called in an exorcist. They believe that an Ouija board session the six members of staff conducted in the ride may have left the rollercoaster haunted.

The SAW ride at the amusement park is based on the horror movie franchise. It can be pretty scary. Allegedly, staff at the centre decided to use the Ouija board after the opening night of a Halloween themed “Fright Nights”.

Shortly afterwards guests are believed to have started to report paranormal happenings on the ride. Bosses believe the two events are related… but it can’t be ignored that this would also be a wonderful PR story for the park. If it is a PR stunt then suspending the six members of staff is, perhaps, extreme.

He told press, “It’s not a hoax. Nothing has been done to that image,” and “The hairs on the back of my neck went up when I first saw it. I’m keeping an open mind. I’m not saying it’s a ghost or anything, but it is certainly strange.”

Hartlepool ghost attacks teenager and throws him out on to the street

July 10, 2009 by Andrew 4 Comments

A family in Hartlepool rushed to St Paul’s Church after their 13 year old son was found huddled outside their locked front door.

Daniel Wilkins claims that he was alone in the house, listening to music when he was pulled upright, dragged across the living room before being thrown out onto the street.

The teenage said the ordeal lasted for five minutes during which time the entity – which wasn’t seen but who’s heavy breathing made it sound male – first tried to get the boy into the kitchen.

Beverley Wilkins found her son outside the locked front door after returning from collecting her 5 year old son from school. They tried to re-enter the house but where chased out by constant banging and knocking.
