The letters alif, lam, lam and haa, connected in the Naskh script and which read “Allah” have been found on a humble egg. The find has made the local news in Nottingham.

Asim Taj and his family held a celebration in their home to mark the birthday of the prophet in February. They believe this is why the word appeared on the egg shell. An expert from the University of Nottingham has not made a comment as to why the letters are on the egg but has confirmed the letters can be recognised as reading Allah.

Mr Taj, of Forest Fields, bought the box of eggs from an ordinary shop on Berridge Road. He told press;

“We were shocked and surprised. It is a miracle. Everybody is talking about it. I have heard stories like this from back home in Pakistan but I have not heard of it here.”

“People smile when they see it. They can tell straight away what it says.”
