The weird battle cry of the desert rain frog

February 26, 2013 by Andrew Leave a Comment

If you’ve not yet watched the video above and are looking at the sand covered frog and wondering whether you should press play – you should.

This little fellow is fierce. He may be small but has a mighty roar.

If you’re wondering this is a desert rain frog and is listed as “Vulnerable” in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. It digs burrows up to 20cm deep for itself.
