Have you ever seen a shaved alpaca? It’s not what you’d expect [You may be very surprised!]

June 1, 2026 by Bronwen Winter Phoenix Leave a Comment

It’s been a little while since I wandered down to Love Gorgie Farm (now no longer running) and was surprised to see the alpacas had been shaved. In fact, my eyes were assaulted by the unexpectedness of it.

You probably know alpacas as the cute, fluffy things with the cheeky smiles, but their necks are actually surprisingly thin under all of that floof! Anyway, I thought I’d make a quick post about it to share the love.

I do wonder sometimes what happened to these alpacas. Where are they now? I’m sure I could find out if I really wanted to. Anyway, if this post is making you realise alpacas are more giraffe-like than you’d realised – or if you’re just here because you like alpacas – then, you’re welcome.

Anyway, that’s all from me for now. Stay tuned for more weird and wonderful news – for next time, ah’ll-packa-pincic!
