The historian Richard Felix has announced he intends to stand for the Labour Party in the next series of Council elections in Derby City.
Richard Felix came to widespread attention as a ghost hunter through UK Living’s Most Haunted TV series.
Felix told press, “I’ve been incredibly lucky to make a career doing what I love but I’m a local boy and it’s time to give something back to the city.
“As someone who cares deeply about Derby, I’m absolutely determined to do what’s best for the city.
“I publicly backed Derby Labour group at the last local elections because I genuinely believe it’s the only party in the city that seems committed to improving things and I want to go one step further in 2010 by helping them to achieve that.
“I’ve done my best to support and promote Derby in my professional career and now I hope the people of Darley ward will support me.”
Richard Felix has served Derby City before and is a former chairman of Derby’s Chamber of Trade. He created the city’s Ghost Walk business and was instrumental in turning the Derby Gaol into a tourist attraction.
In Pure Spirit
Is this a good move for Richard Felix? Do you think he can win? Are there concerns that Derby City’s population might not be aware of his role as chairman of the Chamber of Trade and may be more concerned that a ghost hunter is trying to take an important role as city councillor?
