The long dragons and real life

July 26, 2018 by Andrew 1 Comment

The artist of Chinese artist Guodong Zhao is incredible. Based in Beijing, this talented illustrator takes photographs and paints on a layer of fantasy.

The painted long dragons

Sad or surreal? It’s as these long Asian dragons should be majestic, proud and perhaps even a little menacing. By showing them, sometimes, ruined and wrecked against the sharp contrast of reality Zhao easily transforms them into being of sadness and despair.

Why is it starting to rain octopus?

June 18, 2018 by Andrew Leave a Comment

As a freak storm battled the Chinese city of Qingdao social media began to buzz with the term ‘Seafood Rain’. Why?

It was raining octopuses, starfish and molluscs.

The bizarre storm featured winds as fast as 78mph and rain heavy enough to shatter windows. The weather in the Yellow Sea created waterspouts.

This octopus storm isn’t the first time that extreme climate conditions have resulted in sea creatures being sucked out of the sea and blown over land in a storm. Just last year a similar thing happened in the village of Jaffna in Sri Lanka, according to The Mirror who carried the story.

Do you think we’ll start to see even stranger weather as the climate change takes effect?

Did fishermen really find a dragon skeleton in the Chinese Sea?

December 27, 2014 by Andrew Leave a Comment

According to the Japanese news site Byoukan Sunday there is debate as to whether this is a strange discovery or a hoax.

The find is dated March 2013 and was apparently made by a Chinese fisherman. As the Japanese newspaper points out the bones are rather perfect for a washed up skeleton, though. Could they have been hand carved?

As a hoax it is still a remarkable piece of art.

What do you think? Is this a hoax or do you think the Chinese really have their hands on a skeleton that belongs to a creature we’ve never seen before?

Or is there a third option? Is this a partial skeleton of a more common creature? A whale, for example.

Laughing at the dangers of this incredible Himalayan bus ride

November 14, 2014 by Andrew Leave a Comment

This video shows tourists / brave explorers take a bus ride up into the Himalayas.

Sound straight forward? It was nothing of the sort. First the bus scattered along a narrow road with a 2,000 foot drop just below one side, then it had to squeeze under an overhanging rock… and then it got to the waterfall. Imagine just how slippery that stone road would be with the water gushing all over the place!

Holiday companies like Kuoni do arrange holidays in the Himalayas.

Would you accept a lift from this bus?

Ghost car evades parking fine

January 20, 2013 by Andrew Leave a Comment

This video has gone viral in China. It appears to show a ghost car approaching a ticket gate – at least; a car without no driver.

When the car park guard comes out to investigate a figure appears on the roof the car. It looks very much like a scene from The Ring as the long haired figure shambles into the sight. The guard, perhaps wisely, runs off.

Is it a ghost? Nope. It’s a woman with a car that can drive itself who just didn’t want to pay the ticket fine for her parking.

What do you think is going on here? An ad for a Chinese car maker that promotes a car with some extra automated features? Or just a special effects hoax?

Teleportation caught on camera?

September 25, 2012 by Andrew 1 Comment

The video above seems to show teleportation caught on camera. A woman in China appears to teleport and rescue a motorbike rider from a traffic accident.

Many people are sure this video is a fake. There is a problem with the lights and shadows, they say, and others suggest this is a trailer for a computer game. Generally speaking, the most significant paranormal events caught on camera tend to be part of a marketing campaign.

In this case the YouTube channel seems to be more robust than others. It’s a year old and also has this video suggesting they have found the remains of a giant known as The Annunaki.

The Annukai are, they say, an ancient galactic race that came from the planet Niburu as it interacted with our solar system 450,0000 years ago. The planets align ever 3600 years.

In Pure Spirit

What do you think? Fake?

If this is a marketing campaign why was it uploaded to the same account as the Annukai claim?

Chinese boy with glowing eyes can see in the dark

January 25, 2012 by Andrew 1 Comment

This news footage for the UK but from China appears to show a young boy with very strange eyes. It’s not just that they are blue (like a Westerner, says the reporter) but that they seem to reflect light back like cat eyes. The boy has amazed the medical community because it appears as if he can see in the dark.

Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think. Is this real? A mutation? Evolution?

In Pure Spirit

This would not be the first time someone with superhero-like powers being “found” so we should be cautious of this video. Don’t you think?

Can he really see in the dark?

Tiger dancers and a surprising New Year twist

January 23, 2012 by Andrew Leave a Comment

It’s the Chinese New Year today. May the Year of the Dragon be a good one for you. Although these two dancing puppets aren’t dragons – they’re Chinese tigers – it’s still a good time to share the video.

The two dancing tigers start of dancing to some traditional Chinese music but that doens’t last long as we see the pair begin to shuffle to Party Rock Anthem.

In Pure Spirit

Not bad, huh? I thought the coordination between the front of the tigers and their back legs was especially impressive.

Do you think we’re having more mutant animal births than ever before? Are we just hearing about them more often?

Chinese city appears mysteriously over river

June 21, 2011 by Andrew Leave a Comment

ITN, Independent Television News, based in the UK has this markable video footage of a city. The footage shows a modern city, with buildings such as skyscrapers and bridges and it looks finished and complete.

There is no city. The whole image is believed to be nothing more than a mirage in the mist. You’ll need to watch the video before you can see how remarkable this claim is.

In Pure Spirit

What do you think? Is that a mirage? If it’s not a mirage then how did a city briefly appear over a river?
